CAMBRIDGE UK based artist ED SCISSOR is a central character in the Brit rap renaissance, his inclination towards left-field hip-hop overlaps in a convincing way with the Glasgow based producer LAMPLIGHTER.

Ed Scissor – The rap is low, poetic on the camber, dark of timbre and is constantly chanted like precipitating hail …
The partnership has developed into one of the most interesting collaborations on the alt-rap scene and the next album (Tell Them It’s Winter, out July 15th) sees Scissor further advance his hip-hop sounds into even more unconventional and experimental areas.
The first single taken from the album “TTIW” is darkly stained with post-and-beam Mono-machine rhythms, sawmill accompaniments and umber lumber.
The rap is low, poetic on the camber, dark of timbre and is constantly chanted like precipitating hail. Filled with ocher sulky chemical reaction, this is drama fulfilled.
“Hyperballad” is no less special. This has a haunting grand-piano riff and dark low notes that push the spectral envelope.
There are messages of struggle and success here. And although this is complex material, with hidden depths and chromatic stretch, it is also pleasantly accessible.
These recordings demonstrate a spur-full of creativity and reasoning. So deep and so courageous. Scissor and Lamplighter open up all horizons. Exceptional.
